As someone who has visited Genesis Health + Fitness Warners Bay, I have to admit that my experience has been less than satisfactory. The facilities are starting to feel a bit dated and average at best. Maintenance seems to be a real issue, with items left unrepaired for extended periods of time. The sauna is constantly not working or tripping out, while the change rooms aren’t very clean and most lockers don’t work. Tiles are lifting in the steam room, and it’s hard to contact the front desk via phone.

The staff members at this gym also left much to be desired. I had to ring the gym multiple times to get simple answers and was told by one of the managers that I was receiving a “favour” I never asked for. It was a struggle to find out basic information on downgrading and payment schedules.

Furthermore, I encountered hygiene issues, as I got a foot infection from the sauna and steam rooms. The lack of proper cleaning procedures in these areas is concerning.

In terms of membership, there were misleading practices. They claimed “no lock-in contracts,” but ultimately tried to bind me to a third-party company with predatory contract terms. It was a frustrating and disappointing experience.

When it came to making inquiries about joining, the staff’s unresponsiveness was a significant obstacle. I attempted to contact them multiple times, only to be met with a lack of response and conflicting information when I finally did get through.

After such negative experiences, I cannot in good conscience recommend Genesis Health + Fitness Warners Bay. It’s simply not worth the effort and frustration.

In contrast, I found a better alternative in the Forum at the University of Newcastle. Their transparency and lack of predatory contracts makes them a preferable choice.
